Former Murray High School standout Ian Winterhalder and the Sacramento State Hornets came up short 7-2 against the UMass Lowell Riverhawks in an NCAA Division I baseball game held Tuesday, March 10, at 6 p.m.

John Smith Field served as the venue for this first contest between the Hornets and the Riverhawks this season.

Winterhalder allowed two earned runs and issued one walk during the matchup.
