Former Alta High School standout Abby Southern’s current team, the Southern Virginia Knights, suffered a 10-4 defeat in their NCAA Division III softball contest against the Muskingum Fighting Muskies on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m.
The matchup was held at Harvey-Dryden Field and marked the teams’ second contest this season. In their earlier meeting on Saturday, Feb. 28, the Knights were blanked 9-0 by the Fighting Muskies.
Southern gave up six earned runs in two innings, finishing with three walks and two strikeouts.
The Knights will host the Eastern Mennonite Royals at Harvey-Dryden Field on Tuesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. in their next scheduled game.
