A Localscapes class for those registered will be held at City Hall, 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd., on Monday, May 2 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Sponsored by the Green Committee, this class will teach the localscapes method and will be taught by sustainable landscapes expert Cynthia Bee of the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District. Space is limited but you can check registration availability here.
Localscapes was developed by a team of horticulturists, landscape designers, maintenance pros, irrigation experts and members of the water industry. The goal was simple: create a landscaping approach that takes all the complex and confusing science behind landscape design and simplify it to create landscapes that thrive in Utah. Plus a localscaped yard uses two-thirds less water than a traditional Utah landscape.
"We are so pleased by the interest in this class and want to help residents improve their yards in waterwise ways," said Mayor Kristie Overson.
Several Taylorsville residents already are using the localscapes method in landscaping their yards. You can see some pictures of Taylorsville homes using localscapes below. See additional information at localscapes.com
