Utah Utes drop 8-6 to Arizona; Cottonwood grad Cameron Nielson pitches in NCAA matchup

The Utah Utes, led on the mound by former Cottonwood High School standout Cameron Nielson, were defeated 8-6 by the Arizona Wildcats in their NCAA Division I baseball game on Friday, March 13, at 6 p.m.

Smith’s Ballpark was the venue for this contest, marking the teams’ first meeting of the season.

Nielson pitched 1.1 innings, during which he gave up four earned runs, issued two walks, and notched a strikeout.

The Utes are set to play the Wildcats again on Saturday, March 14, at Smith’s Ballpark.
